The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a classic 2011 action-RPG title, remastered in a VR-compatible "Special Edition" years after its highly successful release. In it, you play as the Dragonborn, a mythical, reincarnated hero who slays dragons, wields their powers and travels across the great white snows of Skyrim, a province in the lore-rich world of Tamriel.
In and Out With the New, Like A Single Breath
Not much has changed in Skyrim's Special Edition. The VR features work well, and the game runs better than ever on modern platforms. There is a new Survival Mode which impacts many areas of gameplay and can provide veteran players with a new experience. On the other hand, similar (and many other) mods are not compatible.
Magicka for Health, Flexibility for Power
Overall, those who have never played Skyrim before will be more than happy if they start with the PS4 VR edition. Those who have played the game before may find that their favourite mods are not available for the PS4 Special Edition, but they may also find that it runs better than Skyrim's previous Legendary Edition ever did. New players, performance-conscious veterans and those who play without mods will all find this version of Skyrim to be above-par.
